Solstad has confirmed the award of a new contract in Brazil for the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Flower, which will operate under a long-term charter with Petrobras.
The contract is set to begin in January 2026 and will span four years, with an estimated gross value of USD 115 million — excluding ROV-related services.

· Solstad has confirmed the signing of contracts with Petrobras for the AHTS vessels Normand Sigma and Normand Sirius scheduled to begin in Q1 2026. Both contracts will run for four years with a combined gross value of approximately USD 210 million.

The project involves specialized titanium joint welding services, one of the company’s core areas of expertise, and is linked to the topsides construction of an FPSO chartered by a major operator to a prominent international oil company.Available information suggests a possible link to the FPSO Raia, being built by BrasFELS for Equinor, or to Seatrium’s construction of the P-84 and P-85 FPSOs for Petrobras.

Solstad Secures Three Long-Term Contracts with Petrobras
Solstad Offshore has signed new charter agreements with Petrobras for two AHTS vessels, including one equipped with an ROV. The contracts are set for four years, with operations starting in Q1 2026. The vessels will be sourced from the global fleet of Solstad Maritime, in which Solstad Offshore holds a 27.3% stake.
Additionally, the CSV Normand Flower has secured a separate four-year charter with Petrobras, scheduled to begin in December 2025. -
Normand Ferking in Rio de Janeiro
Solstad has confirmed the arrival of the AHTS Normand Ferking in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on March 7. According to Pedro Pellegrini, Shipbroker Intern at WSB Advisors, the vessel will begin a three-year contract with Petrobras in the second quarter of 2025.
Built in 2007 and sailing under the Norwegian flag, the Normand Ferking is equipped with an ROV system. It measures 89 meters in length, 22 meters in width, has a 760 m² deck area, and a bollard pull of 239 metric tons. The vessel completed its 28-day journey using certified renewable biodiesel (HVO), significantly reducing emissions. -
Sustainable AHTS coming to Brazil
Solstad Offshore announced that the AHTS Normand Ferking is on its way to Brazil. WSB, the owner of the largest and reliable market database, reveals that the vessel will begin a three-year contract with Petrobras.
The vessel is currently navigating around Africa and is expected to arrive in Brazil by mid-March. It is sailing under the Norwegian flag. Solstad assures that the journey is being carried out with certified renewable biodiesel (HVO), which ensures a significant reduction in pollutant emissions.

Solstad renew contracts
Solstad Offshore has announced the details of contracts for three OSVs operating in Brazil. The company also reported that the combined gross value of the contracts is approximately $53 million.
The AHTSs Normand Topazio and Normand Turmalina will be chartered for an additional year by PRIO and Brava, respectively. Earlier this month, the vessel Normand Cutter has finished a contract with Ocyan and started a new one with Prio.

Another vessel for Búzios 7
Following the arrival of CSV Normand Maximus earlier this week, another vessel has begun mobilization from abroad to support Saipem on the Búzios 7 project. AHTS Siem Emerald, owned by Sea1, is en route from Las Palmas to Rio de Janeiro and is expected to arrive in Brazilian waters by July 1st 2024. Siem Emerald is 2009 built, has 281t bollard pull capacity and will be operating under foreign flag.
“With the arrival of this anchor handler, Sea1 Offshore will be operating a total of eight vessels in Brazil, including two OSRVs, two PSVs, two LWIVs and one MPSV. Normand Maximus coming to Rio de Janeiro
The state-of-the-art CSV Normand Maximus has departed from Las Palmas and is en route to Rio de Janeiro. The Solstad Offshore ASA-owned vessel was chartered by Saipem and will be engaged on the Búzios 7 project, awarded to the Italian company at the end of 2021.
The project includes the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of the Steel Lazy Wave Risers (SLWR) and associated flowlines interconnecting 15 subsea wells to the FPSO together with the related service lines and control umbilicals. Furthermore, Saipem will also be responsible for the provision and installation of the FPSO anchors and for the hook up of the FPSO at field.
Normand Maximus is the result of innovative design philosophy aimed to combine SURF installation with field development activities in ultra-deep water. She is DP3, has a large working deck (2500m2), a main crane and an auxiliary crane with 900T and 150T capacity respectively. -
PSV arrives in Guanabara Bay
CSV Normand Fortress from owners Solstad has arrived in Guanabara Bay and will soon commence her two year firm plus two year option charter with Petrobras She will provide accommodation services (W2W) to support production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. Additionally, with Normand Fortress joining the fleet, Solstad Offshore now has two vessels dedicated to accommodation duties for Petrobras. The other vessel, Normand Valiant, has recently been granted a six-month extension on her charter, ensuring her deployment is firm until mid-February 2025.
Both vessels are equipped with fully motion compensated gangway systems from Ampelmann Operations. Normand Valiant is fitted with an A-type gangway designed to transfer 20 personnel safely and efficiently in under five minutes from vessels to offshore structures while Normand Fortress is equipped with an E-type gangway which can safely transfer personnel in sea states up to 4.5m Hs. -
Solstad strikes new contract
Normand Titus 2014 built DP2 PSV from Solstad has been awarded a one year firm plus one year option contract by Trident Energy do Brasil. Commencement date is expected for early fourth quarter 2022. The vessel will support London based Trident activities at Pampo and Enchova fields in Campos Basin, which acquired from Petrobras in 2019. Normand Titus arrived in Brazil in early 2022 for her first job in national waters for Shell’s drilling campaign at block C-N-791 in Campos basin, performed with Seadrill’s drillship West Tellus.
