    Equinor awards 540-day contract to drillship

    Equinor has recently awarded a 540-day contract to the Valaris DS-17 drillship. The vessel, capable of operation in water depths of over 3600 meters, is set to start operations in Bacalhau field in 2023. The oil company has in addition chartered the drillship West Saturn for a 4 years firm contract with 4 additional 1 (4×1) year option each. Equinor has under charter 6 OSVs in addition to the 2 drillships to attend the demands of the field and environmental emergency response. Equinor is the operator for the Bacalhau field with 40% participation. ExxonMobil also holds 40% and Petrogal holds 20%.

    Keppel with 2 potential awards for FPSOs

    Keppel is in the virtue of two potential awards for two new pre-salt production units (FPSOs) for Petrobras. The Brazilian state oil company released public tenders on April 2021 and Keppel / Brasfels presented the offers. Platforms P-80 and P-82 shall become the largest production platforms operated in Brazil when finalized, with a capacity of 225.000 barrels per day. The estimated cost of the assets may reach close to USD 5.9 billion offered in total, delivered as from 2026 for Buzios. Negotiations for one unit started.

    West Saturn DrillShip undergoing preparation for a new contract

     

    After conclusion of its contract with ExxonMobil, the West Saturn drillship owned by Seadrill is undergoing maintenance to start a 1 year term contract with equinor expected to start in June/July 2022.

    The Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) Normand Swift is also entering in contract with the norwegian oil major to support the drilling campaing after successfully concluded its operation with Exxon.

    TechnipFMC starts to interconnect FPSO Guanabara

     

    The first well interconnecting campaing of Mero 1 to FPSO Guanabara has started. It´s first shipment of rigid lines is directed to the producing well 7-MRO-6DB-RJS.

    Technip´s contract with the Libra consortium includes the supply of 94 km of rigid pipelines in 5 total shipments which will be carried throughout 2022 and 2023.

    The vessel being used to carry out this project is the pipe layer DEEP BLUE.
